Phone of the Day: NEC DSX 22 Button Telephone at Sarpinos Pizza Northwest Suburbs Chicago
I snapped this photo of a lunchtime spot with a hearty good piece of pizza. Not much can be said about this DSX telephone other than the fact that the LCD display is broken.  I believe the DSX is the lowest price and feature end of the NEC systems you can buy.  They are basically ...

Pictured at my favorite hospital where all of my parents were treated with great care and where I volunteered at, is a Nortel M2616 working on a CS1000 former SL1 switch. I used to volunteer at this great hospital during the 1990s while they had two different PBXs, a 1a2 arrangement and a Northern Telecom ...

Phone of the Day: Avaya 4620 IP Telephone Showroom at Merchandise Mart Chicago
This phone was seen last month at a showroom at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago during Neocon.  This phone is most likely an early Avaya 4620 IP telephone or a 2420 digital telephone.  It’s hard to tell which one is which without seeing the cable input into the back of the set.

Phone of the Day: Hitachi Selectset 700 @ DoubleTree Hilton Carmel Indiana
I took a photo of this Hitachi Selectset 700 digital front desk hotel attendant console in Carmel Indiana.  I’ve never known much about this system and based on my earlier Hitachi post, didn’t know it even existed till last month.   Apparently Comdial manufactured the phone for Hitachi in exchange for the Hitachi hotel protocol ...

Phone of the Day:  ESI 48-Key Feature Phone @ University Bookstore Purdue University West Lafayette, IN
I snapped this picture of an ESI set at the University Bookstore at Purdue (independently run, not by Purdue University) yesterday at their main checkout.   This is a newer system since the days I attended Purdue back from 1995-1999.  While I attended Purdue I can distinctly remember this bookstore had NEC Early DTerm 1 ...
