HEB owned Central Market has been a long time NEC pbx user, so I was surprised to see these Vertical Edge 700 8 and 24 Digital (not IP) sets throughout this Plano, Texas location.
To me, other than the plentiful LCD display, the set is very plain and boring especially compared to the uniqueness or quality of a Nortel or Avaya telephone. From far, it’s hard to tell if this set is a Toshiba, LG, or other small key system set. These sets are in fact formerly the Vodavi budget end of telephone key system sets.
Again it’s just my opinion, but the designers of this phone could have definitely put more thought into the design.
Central Market on the other hand is a beautiful store with amazing products and displays. The layout is a large zig zag appropriately made to get you lost amongst the amazing products. Austin Texas based Whole Foods is their largest competitor, but Central Market is definitely the more unique of the two. The store definitely sells many texas products and is Texas proud.
