The attached photo is of a Polycom 550 IP SIP telephone introduced in 2001. It was one of the first desktop IP phone models introduced by Polycom, who previously only manufactured video conferencing and and the boomerang conferencing telephone units.
Marriott hotels have a slough of telephone systems, mostly Avaya, Nortel, and Mitel. This is the first time I’ve seen a Polycom IP phone being used at a hotel front desk. I am wondering what type of SIP server is running behind it.
This was a brand new hotel with excellent service, really comfortable beds/pillows and a really nice lobby! The hotel is on the southern outskirts of Nashville.
