This past Thursday, I spotted this nifty little IP telephone in the elevator lobby of the 7th floor at the nicest hotel in the world, the JW Marriott in Grand Rapids Michigan.
The staff is amazing at this hotel. They make you feel extra special, even if you are just staying one night on a friends and family rate. The breakfast bar is a must have when at this hotel. The head chef Elvis, (not the Rock singer) prepares made to rose omelettes that are out of this world. Brian, the manager does an amazing job at making everything right and enjoyable with him and his staff.
Back to the phone:
As far as I am concerned, this is the nicest basic telephone I’ve ever seen. The color coded buttons, blue background LCD display, easily defined feature button text, silver and graphite color, and sleek handset, makes a Cisco basic set look like a primitive telephone.
Avaya discontinued this set, like they discontinued everything nice about Nortel. You can still find thousands out there on eBay and from resellers.
I currently have one on my kitchen counter as well. It’s connected to my UCx from Emetrotel.
