I recently stopped at a really progressive and modern independent grocery store in Michigan City, IN, the beach town nestled amongst the Indiana Dunes.
Al’s started using IP Office telephone systems in their stores sometime in the mid 2000s. Some of their earlier stores used Aiphone intercoms with 1a2 phones and Executone key telephone systems.
I spotted this 5410 digital telephone at their Karwick Road store. It’s a pretty advanced telephone for a grocery store.
Here is how Avaya describes the telephone: “Developed specifically to meet the needs of small and midsize businesses, the Avaya 5400 Series Digital Telephones incorporate sleek design, improved ergonomics, flexibility and enterprise-class voice quality. These two-wire digital telephones are designed for use with Avaya IP Office.”
