Phone of the Day: Vertical Edge 9820 Standard IP Phone at a Department Store in Suburban Chicago 

I spotted this new and clean looking IP phone at a brand new department store that just opened in the suburbs west of Chicago.   They are a Midwest chain but I don’t want to give their name away on here.  

The new line of Vertical Edge 9800 telephones is another choice to the original 700 and 9000 series telephones.  This 9800 series IP telephones works on the Wave IP system from Vertical.  I am not quite sure what protocol these phones use, whether it’s H.323 or SIP.  

This department store chain used to solely use Nortel M1/CS1000 equipment up until 2009 and some even older acquired stores used Avaya Definity switches acquired from their former owner.
