Phone of the Day: Avaya 4424D+ Digital Telephone at Crate and Barrel Chicago IL

As my fiancé and I were doing our wedding registry I noticed this Avaya Magix digital telephone that was originally introduced by Lucent pre Avaya.  This digital phone was a replacement for the earlier MLX Legend telephones from the 1990s, which in turn were replacements of the original Merlin 1980s sets.  All of these Merlin/Legend/Magix sets were discontinued with the introduction of the IP Office which uses the latest generation of the Avaya sets such as the 9600 and 1600 series sets.

This phone is way too sophisticated for Crate and Barrel which uses walkie talkies instead of the phones for internal communications.  A simpler analog phone would do the trick instead of a completely underused phone system.
