Today’s phone comes to you from the awesome Asian restaurant called House of Kobe in Merrillville, Indiana right outside of Chicago. The restaurant has community tables set up around grills where the friendly chefs joke and cook in front of you, all for the enjoyment of the guests.
At the front door I was able to snap a photo of a Comdial telephone that appears to be a complete knock off of a Nortel Norstar telephone, down to three display softkeys, volume button toggle, the speaker on the top of the phone, shift button, and color coded buttons.
These were developed in the Mid 90s to replace the dated looking “Executexh” telephone from Comdial.
Here is the photo. Notice the autodial button that says “here” meaning that’s the autodial for the phone that the button is on, completely pointless.
