Wow I’ve never seen a full Nortel phone system on a public transit system. I wonder if these phones are connected via fiber to all of the stations on the BART here in the San Francisco Bay Area….or maybe there is a PBX housed at this train station? This phone is located inside the attendant booth on the train platform. Quite impressive compared to a standard analog 2500 set on the Chicago “L” trains.
The M2616 is part of the Aries Digital sets introduced in 1989, quite possibly one of the worlds most popular phones. This is an executive model of the Meridian1/CS1000 digital telephones, that also work on the UCx from E-MetroTel.
