Phone of the Day: Polycom VVX 300 IP Telephone at Rockit Bar Chicago
This photo stems back from my fiances Christmas Party in early December.  I cannot believe it has been two months already since the party!  This phone was on the host stand at Rockit bar.  I’ve tried out these Polycom VVX telephones on my UCx from Emetrotel and they work perfect.  The sound quality is unsurpassed ...

Phone of the Day: Ma Bell 2554 Wall Telephone at North Shore Hospital Glenview, IL

Phone of the Day: Ma Bell 2554 Wall Telephone at North Shore Hospital Glenview, IL
This hospital is running either an Option Meridian 1 or CS1000, and this is one of the analog telephones found throughout the hospital for single line no frills use. Nortel also marketed a single line digital Meridian 1 digital set that was considerably more expensive than the 2554 analog set.  It was called an M2006 ...

Phone of the Day: Nortel T7208 Digital Telephone at Mariano’s Shorewood, IL

Phone of the Day: Nortel T7208 Digital Telephone at Mariano's Shorewood, IL
Roundy’s, the company that owns Marianos’s, is a Toshiba DK Strata house, but they bought a bunch of former Safeway Dominick’s stores in Chicagoland and they reused the Nortel BCM systems left over from Safeway.   When these stores are remodeled to Marianos’s design, they rip out the Nortel system and put in the Toshiba. ...

Phone of the Day: Allworx 9224 IP Phone at City Winery, Chicago, IL

Phone of the Day: Allworx 9224 IP Phone at City Winery, Chicago, IL
Shown at a winery in the heart of Chicago West Loop is this later model Allworx IP phone.  I find the design quite bland especially compared with their newer Verge  IP Phones.

Phone of the Day: Cisco 7821 at a Fresh Themed Grocery Store in Chicago

Phone of the Day: Cisco 7821 at a Fresh Themed Grocery Store in Chicago
My fiancé and I tried out a new supermarket in town and I noticed they are using these very clean and sleek new generation Cisco telephones.  These sets were created to eventually be a new alternative to the standard 7900 series sets.  The store uses these sets quite a bit for paging and internal calls, ...

Phones of the Day: Cisco 8800 and 7900 Series IP Phones on the Presidents Desk at the White House
Along with our new President, it appears President Trump’s Desk has two types of Cisco sets, including a newcomer phone.  One is the older full color 7900 series and one is a newer HD color 8800 series that I assumed replaced the original Avaya Lucent Telephone that used to reside on the desk during the ...

Phone of the Day: Nortel i2004 IP Telephone shown in England
My friend David in England sent me a photo of one his Nortel IP phones connected to my Emetrotel UCx here in Chicago.  It’s pretty amazing to think that this phone is connected back to my main UCx here in Chicago by such a great distance of 3805 miles. Back in the old days of ...

Phone of the Day: Nortel T7316 Digital Telephone at a Printing Business in the Chicago Suburbs

Phone of the Day: Nortel T7316 Digital Telephone at a Printing Business in the Chicago Suburbs
Here is a Nortel T7316, not to be confused with the T7316E (the E means the phone  has a bottom center dedicated speakerphone button), at a printing business in suburban Chicago.  Many small businesses still rely on these trusty phone systems even though Avaya discontinued them a few years ago.  There are plenty of resources ...

Phone of the Day: Old Western Electric Analog “Modern” Office Deskphone in Fishers, IN

Phone of the Day: Old Western Electric Analog
My friends Grandma has this old school Western Electric analog desk phone in her house in Indiana.  It dates from the early 1980s and is one of many different unique telephones she has owned through the years due to her late husbands employment at Illinois Bell in Chicago.

Phone of the Day: AT&T Phonebox at Woodfield Mall Schaumburg, IL

Phone of the Day: AT&T Phonebox at Woodfield Mall Schaumburg, IL
I spotted this unique phone box for a standard wall phone in the restroom corridor at Woodfield Mall.  The mall has been on a legacy Avaya, Lucent, ATT Definity system for years now.  Avaya is not the standard in Simon Malls currently.  The Simon Malls now mostly use Polycom sets.
